Chengdu is the original city name which dates back to its founding over 2000 years ago, and it is the only major city in China to have remained in the same location with the same name after more than 2000 years.

Located in the region of Sichuan, Chengdu is a great spot to visit the Giant Panda breeding Research Centre (better go early in the morning when pandas are more active when eating) and the Giant Buddha of Leshan, Unesco World Heritage.
